Low FODMAP Consultation Package
If you’re suffering from IBS, a low FODMAP consultation with a specialist dietitian could be what you need to get your symptoms under control.
The low FODMAP diet isnโt a diet for life, but a process of elimination and reintroduction which can be used to identify dietary causes of IBS symptoms.
The diet should only be followed until symptoms settle. This is then followed by a reintroduction phase, which identifies your individual tolerance to the various FODMAPs that occur in foods.
You can then add all of the foods that you tolerate well back into your diet, and less of the ones which tend to cause you symptoms, so that you are able to control your symptoms going forward.
With clinics in Preston UK, or virtually anywhere in the UK or worldwide.

What are FODMAPs?
FODMAP is an acronym for Fermentable Oligo- saccharides, Di-saccharides, Mono-saccharides and Polyols.
These FODMAPs are a group of carbohydrates that ferment in the gut and as a result, contribute to many of the digestive symptoms typical in IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and functional bowel syndrome sufferers.
In recent years it has been shown that restriction of these FODMAPS can cause digestive symptoms to improve.
How can a dietitian help?
The FODMAP process is recommended to be undertaken with the support of a FODMAP trained dietitian, as the process can be confusing and advice can be conflicting, depending on the source.
A trained dietitian can help you get back to as normal a diet as possible, and will show you how to include as many of your favourite foods as possible, and help you with eating out, cooking and travelling!
I am a FODMAP trained dietitian (check here) and have worked with many IBS sufferers to help them gain control over their symptoms.
How does a low FODMAP consultation work?
My low FODMAP consultation package will give you two appointments, one for the elimination stage of the process, and a second for the reintroduction phase.
First Appointment
In your first appointment, I will take all of the hard work out of the process for you by showing you exactly what foods or ingredients contain FODMAPs in your diet, and how you can swap these out for lower FODMAP alternatives.
You will also receive written support information which will help you to identify FODMAP foods and help with shopping and recipes for cooking.
You will receive unlimited email support while you work your way through the first stage, so no worrying about anything you are uncertain of before your next appointment!
Second Appointment
In your second appointment, I will show you how to reintroduce foods to see which FODMAPs you are sensitive to.
You then receive email support until you have finished the process, and you can come back for an extra review session if you like at a discounted rate, so you can go over your results and discuss anything you are unsure of.
